After over a year with us, our dear handsome Saxon has finally found a new home. We are absolutely thrilled for him of course, but he will be missed !

In a massive step forward during 2007, Wellingborough Dog Welfare decided to rent a kennel block at Country Kennels, Grendon, where our dogs have a dry, warm and safe place to stay. The older dogs and those that are poorly also benefit from the enhanced arrangements.

This is a new venture for the Charity, and one which we are very excited about – the new block is light and airy, well insulated, and equipped with bedding, progress charts and scales, so that any long-term dogs can be monitored.

Thank you for taking the time to browse our site. For those of you who do not know much about  us, we are a local Charity dedicated to making life easier for the stray and unwanted dogs of Northamptonshire and surrounding areas.  There are 10 Trustees in the Charity, and we all work very hard in our spare time to raise money for our dogs. We take no expenses – every penny goes directly to the dogs in our care. Most of our expenditure is on kennelling and veterinary bills – stray dogs invariably require veterinary attention, for vaccinations, worming, etc. If necessary, we use the service of a dog behaviourist if the dog displays aggression, or fear. We want our dogs to have the very best chance of finding a new home, and more importantly, to stay there!

This all costs the Charity, and we spend our weekends attending Dog Shows, Bazaars, Rallies, and sometimes street collections to raise money.

We are now committed to a fixed rental fee each month . During the Summer we anticipate this will not be too difficult, as we usually find opportunities to publicise our Charity. It will however be more difficult in Winter, when fundraising opportunities are limited: this is why we need your help.

 There are many ways in which you can support us, here are just some examples:

-                      by donating bric-a-brac for us to sell ;

-                      by sponsoring one of our kennels at Grendon by direct debit;

-                      by becoming an Associate of the Charity to help us fundraise;

-                      by arranging a direct debit payment each month ;

-                      by offering foster care for those of our dogs which are too sick to stay in kennel;

-                      by donating prizes for us to raffle.

Please take the time to browse our site where you will find further details and of course details on how to contact us. Remember, your kind support ensures that we are able to make a difference.

Thank you, from the Trustees , and of course, all the dogs.
