How To Help

If you feel you could help us in any way, either by donations, fostering or by fundraising, please contact us

What We Do

Our aim is chiefly to rescue dogs from the local stray block; however we sometimes take dogs from members of the public who, for one reason or another, are unable to keep them. Most stray dogs need prolonged veterinary treatment prior to being rehomed, and we undertake to provide this treatment, plus advice from a dog behaviourist if necessary.
At present, we rent kennel space at a local Boarding Kennel, which obviously means that we need to have funds in place to meet these costs, together with funds for veterinary and associated treatment, as mentioned above.

How We Do It

To raise money, we hold Companion Dog Shows three times a year, take advantage of the local Charity Stall once a month, and by direct appeal through our Quarterly Newsletter.
As our Trustees are volunteers, most of whom hold full-time jobs, evenings and weekends are spent fundraising, exercising the dogs, and undertaking home checks to make sure that proposed new owners realise the commitment that they have to make prior to adopting one of our dogs. We also are keen to promote the use of Foster Parents, for short- or long-term care, and reasonable expenses will be met by the Charity. In the case of pensioners or those on benefits, the Charity will naturally meet all associated costs in caring for a dog, especially those older dogs for whom life in a kennel would be unsuitable or unpleasant.
